What woman does not adore a pair of shoes that is both comfortable and chic? LennyLu (www.lennylu.com) is a product of a collaboration between a Brazilian designer and founder duo who are passionate about bringing color and fun into otherwise ordinary monotonous life. The luxury shoe brand was created with the intention of creating comfortable, flexible shoes that deliver freedom, beauty, and versatility in one. Supple, soft-as-a-feather leather is gentle on sensitive, growing skin. However, LennyLu is about more than shoes. They envision a world where mothers can easily and confidently nurture the bonds they share with their daughters, through matching shoes that reflect their DNA, personalities, and souls. Aside from supporting marginalized communities with employment opportunities, LennyLu donates a portion of all proceeds to childhood education. They have partnered with Savethechildren.org to fulfill every child's right to education.
Recently, on September 23, 2021, fashion celebrated the collaboration (called Deliverance) between LennyLu x Puey Quiñones. It was a fabulous night! The event, hosted by Now Magazine and Now PR, (www.nowprla.com) quickly became the most sought-out event of the season. LennyLu is represented by Now PR, a leading public relations and communications agency in Beverly Hills. The agency is run by the chic and savvy Tash Greizen.
The evening began with a commercial presentation of the collection that charmed everyone and elevated the presentation of the shoes to another level. The collection is called "Deliverance" and is a direct expression of beauty and freedom. The shoes were presented among rosy pink and white flower arrangements that adorned the rooftop poolside and drew everyone's attention to them. Fashionably chic guests walked the fuchsia pink runway and posed for pictures to mark this special day.
LennyLu brand owner Patrick F. Campbell then gave a lovely speech and thanked everyone for coming. He also praised the designs of collaborator Puey Quiñones. The shoes were then showcased in a runway presentation with stunningly gorgeous models walking around the poolside. They were accompanied by It Girl collaborators Lauren Blake, and Antje Utgaard, who walked beside them and rocked the runway with shoes they individually picked out and helped design.
Gemma Magazine had a moment to interview Patrick F. Campbell and his wife, Marcia Souza about the collaboration and we could not have been more thrilled.
What was the inspiration behind the LennyLu x Pues Quiñones collaboration?
The true inspiration was a nod to being 'delivered' from the lockdown. Women want to be beautiful and be seen. However, they want that comfort level as well. Lenny Lu shoes have always been about comfort and beauty -- but we wanted to add a twist. It's similar to women breaking out of a cocoon but better than ever. 'Deliverance' and the inspiration of this collection is about saying you can have it all: Comfort, Femininity, Beautiful and Luxurious.
How did you like working with Puey Quiñones?
Puey is Amazing! He came to Brazil and we talked about different ideas. His energy and creativity are incredible. Everyone adored him in Brazil and respected his work ethic. Personally, I was blown away by how fast this collection came together.
Did you have a specific vision for the collection?
The set vision was to have a broad range of shoes from sandals to boots to flats. We wanted to make sure every woman and every style was covered. Again that luxurious and comfortable vibe but with something different as well this time. Overall, to keep that low thin profile is significant for us.
Was "chic and comfortable" part of the aesthetic?
Absolutely! Super chic and casual is part of the aesthetic. We want to keep the comfort level a priority while enhancing the beauty and the elegance. The 'Lenny' shoes are a great example of comfort and beauty. However, we wanted the functional comfortability of soft leather blended with the beauty of elegance and femininity.
How do you feel about European Fashion compared to the fashion scene in Los Angeles?
I absolutely love European fashion. It seems as if Los Angeles is more casual, which I like as well. If I had to pick a shoe that blended the European market with Los Angeles, it would be the 'Lenny.' The softness of the shoe with a low thin heel (almost like a flip-flop) and a touch of edge to it. Here, we tried to bring a touch of the European side and blend it with the West Coast aesthetic.
What's up next for LennyLuShoes?
We want to work on selling our collection. Then, by November, a new collection is in the works.
Gemma Magazine would like to thank Patrick Campbell of LennyLu!
